Discovery and Restoration of Jayavarman VII: Summary

Pieces of Jayavarman VII statue had been discovered by Henri Marchal in 1924, and he had kept them in Angkor Conservation in 1931. After that, Georges Groslier took them to National Museum Of Cambodia and restored them in 1934. By 1998 conservation and maintenance team of National Museum of Cambodia were found that the restoration was not suitable, and they decided to take them off and maintained it technically until they were finished in 1999. Note: Right arm of Jayavarman VII has been discovered in 1990, and left arm has been discovered in 1924. Archaeologist and Angkorian research, Professor Michel Tranet has claimed that they were the hands of Jayavarman VII, but he has never restored them by his own hand. His claiming has been showed up in 2019 by French Researcher Team. They used 3D scanner to restore them.
